About Sean...

For over 10 years Sean has exposed us to a raw, profound lyrical experience. Smith, a country/bluesman at heart, embraces a style somewhere between Dylan and Leadbelly. Charged with passion and meaning, his performance combined with his unique style of folk poetry will move you!

Sean has captivated the ears and minds of audiences across America. He has subsequently shared the stage with folk sensations such as Janis Ian, Leo Kottke, Michelle Malone, and pop superstars John Mayer, and Jennifer Nettles (Sugarland). Sean's musical career stems from his love of writing and music. After attending the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and completing a tour in the United States Air Force, Smith wanted to have a positive influence in the world community. Through his lyrics and personal experiences, Smith helps us to explore the human condition, and reach a peaceable resolve through education, effort and love.

Sean's music has focused on the realities of life, from politics to relationships. Songs to explore: Moonlight which describes how nature always manages to center and direct his romantic relationship during turbulent times, Brownsferry, an incredibly vivid and poetic story that talks about hope and inspiration, and about the magic of music and it's place in our lives, and Rock Star , a song that talks of the lonely life of a musician and his guitar, and trading home for a life on the road. The most haunting song of all that Sean shares is The Ballad of Indiana. Indiana is the controversial telling of a little girl's trials. Growing up is hard and often unfair.
